I have published John’s work on LOZ in August. John was in Paris for a couple of days, so he proposed to meet me, and brought this one for me. MERCI !
This is about a Christian community in England. John has photographed strong moments in their everyday life, this is a 20 years job. The black and white keeps this work respectful to the people photographed.
It’s always amazing to see how faith can help people live.

A few years ago we went for a romantic week-end in Normandie, and he spent some time taking pictures of old bunkers of WW2, so this was a “clin d’oeil”.

I’m happy we own this one, the printing is good, the format is large which helps for his work.

A set of prints, and i enjoy this humour. Nothing to say… the object is very beautiful, even if i had a candle crash on it (!) (how could this happen to me ?).
The box is numbered, and signed (100 copies), I got 19/100

This is a must have in my collection, and this one as a few good ideas. I like the fact that they kept the scotch tape, the finger prints, and dirts. Also the idea to make work together drawings and pictures and link them in a very easy fanzine way.

I have seen this work at Paris Photo, in November, some of these landscapes remind me my parents place, in Picardie, and this make me think I have to add Thierry Girard’s ‘Hiver d’Oise’ on my wish list.

This is a book i remembered i wanted to buy a few months ago, so i had to buy it when i saw it was on sale at the bookstore. This was the last issue they were selling.
I love the landscapes pictures. I have seen many times the picture called Slapy (page 19) : this is a strong picture but i don’t like it. My favorite spread is pages 46-47. Snow in picture has always been a magnet to my eyes, and i love the colors of the right page.
