Michelle Abadie & Susan Beale, Nothing to write home about
(Celebrating the heyday of the British holiday postcard)
This is a compilation of 60’s, 70’s and 80’s postcards, I bought this £9,77 there.
I have always loved cliff railways (Téléphériques in French). I chose that one for the London picture, too.
Didn’t know skiing was possible in Scotland !
Delighted to hear from you. Shall be out on Friday afternoon. Am usually here in evenings and usually daytimes also but this is not so certain as I have to eat. Tom
Beside the pictures, they wrote the holidaymakers messages.
All these have a nostalgic feel. The old-fashioned (désuet) pictures, and the colors that turned. Now I feel guilty we haven’t sent any postcard during our Brighton/London trip this week. I also wonder if today’s postcard will make us feel nostalgia within 20 or 30 years ?
RJ Shaughnessy, These photographs will heal your soul
This is a self-published, it will be out in about 10 days
All the details I love : 1st edition, signed, limited edition… yummy !
I think this is water. Please forgive our bad pictures, this is a difficult one to show like this. Last year, RJ had published another remarkable book : Your golden opportunity is comeing very soon (I had to run at Colette to get the last copy they had there).
I really love his work, his look. And the books are so different from his usual work.
