I love the use of letterpress on the cover, you can see it inside, and get the title printed at the exact same place

That book was waiting for me at the bookstore, really.

A nice walk last week-end, from Salon Light to Le Marais, we stopped at Yvon Lambert’s bookstore, and then at FR66 where we got this Martino Gamper’s stool.

Back to the book.

Love this garden pictures, reminds me of my mother’s love for garden, and the time she spends in hers. It’s a passion she’s got from her mother, and share with her sisters.
Those pictures make me feel confortable. Like home.

That’s what gardens are made for. Feel confortable, home.

Snow in pictures. The strongest magnet to my eyes.

Enlarged polaroids, no binding. The book is loose and the sequencing is up to the owner/ reader.

America is often shown as a welcoming land, especially with the use of the nostalgic warm happy polaroids. Here it is different. Pictures show the hardness of living in the US, cold, poor and difficult country.

Pineapples in a photobook ? Yes.

Mmmm

Alec Soth got commissioned by the Festival to produce a work on the city of Rome. He has decided to remake the picture “An American girl in Roma” by Ruth Orkin.
And he added some pineapples.

This is a strange book. My first reading was not really positive, quite dubitative

But the more you look at the book, the more you like the work.

Self-published 2011, I got this one during PiY
