Before I was interested in photography, I was much more into music. I loved Dinosaur Jr, and Greenmind’s cover album was a picture by Joseph Szabo. This picture was so simple and powerfull. I think it had an impact on teenagers like me, and on Dinosaur Jr / Jay Mascis’s carreer.
Years later I still love that picture, and got more interest in Szabo’s work.

Jones Beach. There is something a little Martin Parr-ish in this, but this is America, black and white, and the 70’s.

Hop là

Many great pictures and great spreads

I had seen the book on the web, but didn’t thought about buying it. And that’s what I like at Comptoir de l’Image : you get lost in books, piles of books without perticular order, and then you open some of them, and magical things happen.
That’s bookstores will always be important.
That’s not my favorite book, but that’s a good one, one you want to open several times.
